For Sale/Wanted

This bike was put together in the late ‘90’s by Dave Molloy, may he rest in peace. I’ve been on the verge of selling it since I retired and no longer need the road therapy it provided. There will be a memorial ride for Dave in early June, and I feel the bike has to be there, but that will probably be my last ride. I was expecting to sell it at auction, but I have found connection and community in this organization, so I guess I’ll put this out here first.

Richard, it is sad when we part with a friend but you have to indicate a price.

I guess I’m not really sure what it’s worth. I have documentation showing it’s one of the George Disteel chicken coop bikes. When Dave restored it mechanically, he asked me about a cosmetic restoration and I said no. I bought it to ride it, and I knew I’d be too nervous about scratching a pretty bike to enjoy the ride. I probably won’t be ready to describe the bike in the detail a sales listing requires until later this summer. The listings for other bikes I’ve seen have had a level of detail that I may not have the expertise to provide. I just ride the thing. I call it Dracula because I spent my life savings on it twice, once to buy it and 10 years later to get it running.
